S.E.T. Ltd
Hall & Kay continues to break new ground in the fire protection and
detection industry with the launch of the UK’s first dedicated sprinkler
training school.
Situated within our state-of-the-art prefabrication plant in Warrington, the training school represents the latest major investment by Hall & Kay as part of our on-going drive to provide the highest standards of service to clients and also the best possible training to our staff. The facility has the advantage of protecting our fabrication unit with the most up to date and reliable of fire protection measures.
The training school comprises working fire pumps (diesel driven, electric driven and a pressure maintenance pump) for an Ordinary Hazard Group 3 15m installation – with installation control valve sets. These include a wet system, an alternate system and a pre-action system. The combination of pumps and valve sets enables training to be carried out on the most commonly installed fire protection systems.
This facility was created with the support and collaboration
of our major equipment manufacturers, including Grundfos (sprinkler fire pumps)
Angus Fire (installation control value sets), Franklin Hodge (tank) and
SET (all electrical work and components).
The training school took almost three months to complete at a market value of over £50,000. A three-stage syllabus has been created to allow training to be adapted to the needs and experience of individual engineers.
All Hall & Kay service engineers, site operatives, and junior engineers will receive regular training and refresher courses to ensure that they are up-to-date with the latest technical requirements and continue to provide the highest level of support to our clients. In addition to training our own engineers, the facility will also offer courses to clients’ engineers and to insurance companies who need to provide their staff with the latest technical knowledge. Non-Hall & Kay engineers can be trained through our own syllabus or, alternatively, we can provide supervised training to a client’s own syllabus.
Hall & Kay’s reputation for unrivalled professionalism, customer service and system engineering has already prompted interest in training courses from within the industry as well as from a number of the UK’s largest retailers.
